Subject: Having trouble coping with PR issues ????
Its unfortunate that no one can predict exact dates (which is true for other countries too) but sometimes its hard to just ignore the delays we encounter in the immigration process.
I have observed that when things can go wrong, it WILL go wrong.... always the case with me atleast when it comes to immigration related things. But rather than just accept it I have learnt to convert that situation into a win - win scenario.
Case in point, Canada PR process has surely frustrated most of us. So to keep myself occupied I wanted to do something productive which will also give me some joy, and for lack of better things to do, I took up the game of golf this year in June and made a promise to myself that the day I land in Canada I should be a single digit handicap (For those who are not aware of whats a handicap - just assume it means an above average skill golfer) Now, for the dedicated person it could take anywhere between 4-10 years atleast to get to that state (from where I am starting). So I´m actually happy now that the PR process is giving me enough time to fulfill my promise LOL.

The promise I made to myself was realistic because I really like the game and I have come to terms with the amount of effort that I will need to get to where I want to be, hence its going to be a very exciting race and hard to predict what will come first. So I´ll not be intimidated with IA´s and PPR´s but just keep plugging away at my game.

The results....
I haven´t checked my e-client status since June. (Well I did check it before I posted this thread as I was feeling guilty about mentioning that I went that long without checking it, guess what, it hasn´t changed, cool.)

Georgia could be, but Canada.... "NOT" on my mind !!

This is just my way of passing the time, I encourage others to chip in with their tips to assist fellow future PR´s !

Raj: Thanks for your cheerful message. It is a great example of how we can support one another. Unlike you, I have decided to become obsessive/compulsive. I vow to check e-CAS three hundred times a day and read every blog as often. When I wear out my computer keyboard, I will probably get to Candada. So, you will be a great golfer and I will be buying a new computer ;).

Tim,
There are many in the same boat as you are, well its actually a ship 10 times the size of Titanic bursting at its helms and the only ones that are thrown off it are the ones who are ready to land in Canada.... ok, jokes apart, I think you might have just started the PR process (wild guess) because I´m sure it will wear you out and after a while you wouldn´t be bothered much abt checking it every day (Just FYI Tim, the e-client is not something you can depend on judging from previous posts from our friends here. Now that should help you curb your obsession/compulsion eh ?)

Sharon,
yeah, I´m sure I´ll play on one of the best courses in Canada, its something I´m really looking forward to, but to do justice to the course, I can only think of one thing to do now. Practice !!

Cheers,
Raj

This is just too much to wait for one stupid PR for 2-3 years...I have finally decided not to wait anymore,i am in canada from 3 years and it´s not a heaven that u keep on waiting for so long ...I had applied in June 2004,everything was finished in june 2005..but no scene of PR yet.I had 92 points and they don´t respect ur capability I guess. So planned to leave canada in Dec for good..My girl is canadian,,she can come back in future if she wants to..but i am saying goodbye to this country forever if I don´t get anything by end of this year.If they don´t need us we don´t either..there is lot more in life..I have a good career option coming up..so planned to leave. All the best to u guys.

Tim, when I read your response I had to laugh, I could have written it.

I have self diagnosed with OCD. It?s good to know that I?m not the only one checking and checking and checking. I wasn?t going to check today, but since you have checked, here I go??nothing new. There?s always tomorrow to check.

Wish I could practice my Golf. I can´t bloody afford a lesson with the way CIC has been wringing very single dollar out of me for the last couple of years. However Im not obsessed with checking e-client. Its the dumbest program ever designed in the history of IT. Instead, I´ve started studying for my GMAT. Not that I will be able to afford an MBA, but it will keep me sane for the next couple of months.
