Subject: Is my timeline abnormal ?
I applied to Buffalo in March 2004

My Timeline:
AOR: May 2004
IA: June 2005
Medical/Doc: June 2005

e-CAS says "We started processing your application on May 05, 2004"

After reading forum postings and yogi´s Buffalo tracker, I have two concerns:

1. Time between AOR and IA is abnormally lengthy
2. e-CAS should mention ´medical received´ by now

Could someone please tell me whether I should be concerned about this.

I am completing my studies in Canada. Therefore desparate to see my PR comfirmed by the end of this year. Otherwise, I will have to leave Canada and don´t know how to pursue with the application thereafter.

you are fine, get ready to wait for 6-12 months and you should get your PR. Now everything is slowed down for some misterious reasons.

My husband and I are both PhD student (international tuitions, etc., REALLY desperate to stop paying that amount of money for two family members, :) ).
Applied SW to Buffalo.
AOR Nov. 2003,
Meds (expired 20 days ago), add. docs Sept. 2004
Still waiting for PR...........
e-CAS says "We started processing your application on Nov 03, 2003"
And a lot of students in this forum are in the similar situation. I don´t think any of us can do anything at all for this matter. Just wait, and accept the idea that it can take some more time. Try to find some kind of job to be able to stay while you get it. I transfered from M.Sc to PhD level for that reason.

Don?t trust e-cas.

E-cas has been designed to make people sick.

My point of view...
Seat back and relax.

Cheers

Hi Dil,

1. Yes, a little too long but the most important thing is...your IA already arrived...
2. Sometimes what should happen do not happen, have you requested CAIPS already...you might be able to see it there.

goodluck

Thanks for your replies. Sorry to hear that most people are waiting for long periods of time. I certainly didn´t expect to wait this long when I applied.

If I will have to leave Canada, most probably I will withdraw my application. Now that I have already paid RPRF, does anyone know how difficult it´s going to be to get it back. (assuming that I will have to ask for it after I leave Canada)

you can leave canada any time you want, provided that you inform CHC, but it´s highly advisable to keep your mailing address in Canada so that they will be able to send you passport request, depending on your nationality and places you lived in, the checks may take 2-15 months and they start after immediately after IA.
I would advise you to fax them 6 months after IA as this may help otherwise you can´t do anything.
good luck

Dil,
Don´t give up,
There is a possibility that you´ll get your visa before that time you would need to leave Canada. I really hope for that- every case is very different, it´s unpredictable.

I did not mean to scary you or something..... Just want you to know that you should get ready for the fact that it could be a little bit longer than you expected and in that case you can do something in this direction. do not withdraw your application- I´m sure you put a lot of efforts to stay in Canada, just may be think about possibilities to extend your stay in Canada somehow.
You indeed can send e-mail or fax request about the status of your application.
Best wishes.
