The following is the transcript of an actual radio
conversation in October 1995, between a US Navy ship
off the coast of Newfoundland, and some Canadians.
The transcript was released by the Chief of Naval
Operations on 10/10/95.
CANADIANS: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the
South, to avoid a collision
AMERICANS: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees
to the North, to avoid a collision
CANADIANS: Negative. You will have to divert your
course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.
AMERICANS: This is the Captain of US Navy ship. I say
again, divert YOUR course.
CANADIANS: Negative. I say again. You will have to
divert your course.
AMERICANS: THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS LINCOLN.

(in reply to: US NAVY & Canadians) ok, I wanna share something to you guys, I think Canadian military is under funded.
We, not me (not yet), proudly Canadian, should have first-class military to protect and secure our citizen.

(in reply to: US NAVY & Canadians) You need intelligence against terrorists,an army won´t do you any good ....but on the other hand...supplying an army with lots of toys makes the economy roll.

(in reply to: US NAVY & Canadians) If canada wants to expand its army then they´ll have to increase the tax by 10% or more to support it. I doubt anyone wants that, especially there is no perceived benefits of a bigger army.
