marriage certificate
When I get married in 4 weeks we want to send off our application for spouse sponsorship that same week. Its 4 to 6 weeks after a marriage before getting the government issued marriage certificate here in Australia but we will also get a certificate from the marriage celebrant. Can we send our application with a copy of the celebrants certificate with a note attached telling immigration of the wait and we will forward a copy of the government certificate asap? or will they return our application until we can provide the government certificate?

you will loose nothing if you try, I do believe they will accept that.

That´s what many have done. here in canada it can take 8-10 weeks to get the certificate, so we sent the record of marriage we got after the ceremony. once we get the certificate we´ll just forward a copy on.
