Subject: pass HRDC
  Hi,
can any one explain, what does mean of passing HRDC.Do they have any examnination or they just assess past qualification.

Im coming on student visa with my Husband and he is a Mehcanical Engineer, but in the same forum i was told he will have to pass HRDC than he will be eligible to get the work permit.
My husband did the Engineering a long time Ago in 1997 but not from canada but from India.

Thanks
Sincerely
Mona

Hi Mona,

HRSDC stands for Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC). HRSDC approval letter is given by that department.

* The department makes sure Canadian PR or citizens don´t go jobless by giving a job to a person who is not a PR or Canadian.

* This is the department that checks whether they have enough Canadians (or PRs) are excess in this particular field.

As per my knowledge, I don´t want to discourage you, it is pretty tough to get a job without being on a work permit already or being a fresh graduate from Canadian universities.

But, you know, if you are very good in your field, exceptionally well, then be confident.

Thats all my views are...Good Luck
