Good day. I am a canadian citizen living outside canada specifically philippines. I would like to sp0nsor my wife and plan to live in canada. I have filled out the sponsorship forms but am faced with a dilemma. the income requirement required to sponsor a spouse doesn´t meet my annual income requirement... i already sponsored by 1 year old daughter though bec as per embassy, she is automatically a citizen. my problem is my wife. does the income requirement really have to be met? if yes, does this mean that i am not qualified and have no hopes of sponsoring my wife? the reason for my question is bec. i want to go to canada along with my family altogether rather than go 1st alone.
pls. help...
thank you

(in reply to: income requirement for spousal sponsorship) Manuel, you do not need to provide proof of income to sponsor your wife.
Go ahead an submit the application, no income required.

(in reply to: income requirement for spousal sponsorship) thank you very much!=) that really hit the nail on the spot.=) But what do i place on the forms? do i just leave it blank? Next question, May I just wait for my wife´s papers to be processed so that we can all go along together and skip the hassle of me going there first without them?
thank you again.=)

Manuel
You don?t need an income requeriment in order to sponsor your wife to go to Canada.
I would recommend you to submit your sponsorship application along with her Permenent resident application and documentation.
She also may undergo medicals up-front , so you could send it to Ontario all together.
Send your sponsorship application , her permanent resident application , her medicals and you may pay on-line using your credit card the $75 + $475 + $975 CAD fees.(Attach the official payment confirmation sheet along with your application).
Once you send the whole package , seat back and relax.
Good luck eh!

(in reply to: income requirement for spousal sponsorship) If you are working currently you can include a copy of your recent paystud, if you don´t have one or no income just include a note that you don´t currently have an income and that as per the guideline you do not need to meet the LICO.
As you are a Canadian Citizen you can submit the application while you are living with you wife in the Philippines. According to CIC´s website it takes 6-9 months to complete 30-80% of spousal application in Manila so you can live with your family while the application is been processed.
