Hi there,

I did not take the IELTS. I cannot say that my case has been approved to the dot since I don´t have PPR yet but during my recent interview, the officer accepted the affidavits and certifications that I presented for my English proficiency explanations in place of IELTS.

My suggestion: Take the IELTS now, if you will score excellent, submit the results. If you won´t score well then submit the English explanations and certifications. Later if CIC will ask you to take the IELTS, then maybe you can re-take the test and score better....goodluck

I attended interview at detroit last week. I did not take IELTS. The officer did not ask me to take the test.

By the way i was a student in canada for three years. They are waiting for my medical and FBI reports.

Thank you.

Yes there is a possibility that your case may be approved without the IELTS score. BUT there is also the possibility that you will be asked to provide the IELTS score.

If you are asked to provide the score then you will have a limited time and will be able to appear in IELTS only once. And if you are not able to get the required score the outcome can be disappointing.

If you have time for preparation, take the test.

You think about not to take it, so you had education in English and/or have lived in an English-speaking country. I did not have this conditions and scored well in my first exam. If you certainly need the points for your application, spare your nerves and take the test in advance. You also increase your chance for an interview waiver.

I got the interview waived but had to submit my IELTS. Have lived in the US and have a degree from a school in the states as well, which apparently wasn´t enough.

I got the interview waived without any request for IELTS.
