Has anyone ever had a case closed by Immigration and successfully gotten it reopened? Due to life swallowing me , a slightly abusive husband ( who is my sponsor), and financial problems my case has taken a very long time. I was approved in principal before they closed my case.IT got closed when I moved to a new city and called them with my address. They some time after sent a letter to an address I had several years before and gave me 30 days to respond. When I didn´t they closed my case. I have been told by them that I have to restart a new one. I have no money and my husband is unlikely to give it to me to pay for everything again since he doesn´t want me to get my independance with my kids.. If anyone has any ideas , any help would be appreciated

(in reply to: reopen Closed cases) MKVE, you will need to seek help for your case. If you are in Toronto you can contact Ontario Coalition Against Poverty, the website address is http://ocap.ca/node/25 they offer immigration services and will help you to submit your file.
If you are not in Toronto, then try to find a similar organization in your area.
You other option is to contact you Member of Parliament.
If you are submitting a new application will you husband sign the undertaking that is required by CIC?

Send OCAP and email and they will be able to provide you with information on resources in your area. Unfortunately, I don´t know of similar organization in Ottawa, but OCAP says Ontario Coalition, and last I checked Ottawa was still in Ontario, so they should not only have info for Toronto residences.
You might also be eligible to receive a loan from CIC to help with you application processing. Check out there website:http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/refugees/resettle%2D3.html
The loan I believe would fall under the following option: you might meet the requirement for "women at risk"
Joint Assistance Sponsorship
Special programs also exist in cooperation with provincial governments and voluntary groups to assist special-needs refugees, such as women at risk. These initiatives can assist when resettlement is urgently needed or when a refugee family may need longer-term support to resettle in Canada. Government and non-government organizations combine their resources to best meet the needs of these refugees.

Closed/Abandoned File (in reply to: reopen Closed cases) I would like share my application case and need your kind advice.
First time, I applied in June 2000 through Islamabad, received letter in Jan 2001 for police certificates and other, submitted in time.
Then missed interview letter in postal service, received notice to abandon/close file in April 2001, since then no response. I sent many faxes, letters, even new application forms with documents, but no response.
Now I have re-applied few months back, acknowledgement received so far.
I want my case to process faster. Is there any possibility to re-open or re-start the old application???
OR Do I need to mention about my old application (I didn´t mention about old case in new application, as there is no question such as Have you applied before.
Your advice and suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
