I visit this website everyday, read the post, reply if I have anything of value to add otherwise I stay put, but today I just need to vent.
It has been four months now since I submitted my husband?s application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada. The file was sent to Jamaica almost three months ago. Jamaica finally started processing the application on September 5th, two months after the file was sent to them. On their website it says, ?Contact us if you have not received the AOR within 8 weeks,? I have sent them a fax as per their website. Unlike Buffalo and other offices you can?t call or email to get information on the file; however our fax has gone unanswered. I called today and got a message saying the office is closed.
I just wish that CIC had a consistent operating procedure across all offices. Some offices send out AOR, others do not. The ones that do send AOR send at various times, four weeks, eight weeks etc. and even when they don?t meet their own deadlines, they ignore your request.
Anyway, I just wanted to vent, I know that the processing takes time, but I still fathom how some case from start to finish takes 1-4 months and others get dragged out into perpetuity.

you are absolutely right. the least CIC can do is standardize processing.

I´ve been waiting 9 months IN CANADA for my PR, CIC haven´t contacted me at all and of course, I can´t work. So AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH. I don´t think they realise what effects this kind of thing can have on people. I feel like crap and like no-one will hire me because I´m so not used to work 35-40 hours a week.
