I am in the final process of collecting documents before sending out my application(SW-Buffalo)I have one problem though-One company that i worked for in 2000 to 2002(16 months)no longer exists. The company is defunct now and I have no contract or payslips from this company. The only thing I have is an old letter that the managing director wrote for me when I was changing jobs. What do you guys think I should do about this?I have 3 other employment letters including one from my current employer.I worked for my first employer for 28 months, second for 16 months, third employer for 10 months then current employer from July 05 to present.
Kenny,Joe05,starwars and others please assist with your inputs.I will be so greatful!!

you should include this in your working history, and attach a letter explaining the situation, and including all details about the company and if possible names of persons you worked with remeber even such company is traceble, lets hope by that they will count your experience, even if they don´t you should mention it anyway.
good luck

Hi,

If all these working months happened during the last 10 years? Are all these experiences within the same field?...if yes, then you should be good.

Mts is right, include an explanation about why you cannot present a job letter for your other company. Any other documents that can support your employment from this company would be beneficial. If you can still locate your manager or any co-worker even if he/she no longer works there, he/she can still issue a certificate supporting your claim that you worked in that company. Any docs would be helpful.

Judging from the number of months that you have worked so far, I believe that you have achieved the 4 years maximum points even without that "closed company". Just make sure all your other job letters will represent your past/present experiences really really well....you´ll be fine...goodluck...

You should always mention the truth on your application.

If you worked for that company for 16 months you must have paid taxes. So include copies of your tax returns. As Maher mentioned write a letter telling them that the company you worked for does not exist. Include whatever documents you have proving that you worked for that company - appointment letter, employment contracts etc.
