Hi Friends,
Here is my case :
I landed saturday(Oct 8th) night by air to Canada(Halifax). My immigration process is complete and as per the VISA on the passport, I had to land before December 5th 2005. But at the Immigration counter, the Officer asked me about the rest of the paperwork besides my passport.
He said that I should have received another letter in mail that is required at the time of landing. I don?t remember receiving any such letter. All I have is my passport with the VISA stamped. I had applied through the US Buffalo office.
He finally gave me a temporary visa to stay in Canada for a week.
I don?t know how to find that letter now.
I was suggested by many people on this forum to contact Buffalo ASAP. Last evening, I got a reply from them saying that there is no way CORP(IMM 592) is not delivered when your passport is delivered, as both of them leave there Office together in the same packet. The reply also said there is hardly anything they can do at their end.:(
Now, I am thinking of going to Buffalo in person tomorrow to request another copy of the COPR (IMM 592)and then re-enter in Toronto. Does anyone know if they can provide me a copy for sure if I go there in person. I am planning to reach Buffalo consulate Thursday morning.
PLEASE HELP ME WITH SUGGESTIONS!!!!!

If there is no way to find it , then I would call Buffalo again to tell them that it´s been lost and see what they will advise you to do, they may ask you to submit your passport again.

I agree with mts, call Buffalo again and tell them it´s impossible for you to find it. Do not insist on telling them that they did not send it to you. Just ask them KINDLY how to get another copy. Tell them you are willing to go there personally and just ask what are the things you need to do or bring to get another copy. Be very kind in your words and very diplomatic. Remember, you want something that only them can give so be very very patient with them...have faith....goodluck...

I saw your posting about 2 or 3 days ago. You mentioned there that the CIC lady advised you to go there (Buffalo) personally and they will be able to give you a certified true copy of the COPR and you can re-enter Canada..WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? go ahead...go to Buffalo to put an end to your problem....goodluck..

I already told them (by fax & email, they don´t pick up the phone) that I am unable to find it. The CIC Call center people are suggesting to go to Buffalo personally and explain the situation.
What do you guys suggest, should I book my tickets for Thursday morning.

Hi Joe,
The only concern is that when I called CIC Call center again, they are not 100% sure that they might give the copy. Except that one lady in the Call center, everyone said that it is the best way but they can´t tell whether I´ll get the letter for sure.

I believe that if you will show them all your other docs, they should not have any problem issuing anew one....
If you won´t go to Buffalo, do you have any other options? from my point of view...Buffalo is your only way out here. If you will push through with your plan, make sure you arrive really early and you should at least know where to go. If you will go to Buffalo, go there with the determination that you are not leaving without the COPR...be positive...be patient and kind to them...I don´t know what your religious affiliation is....but prayer and faith are your best tools here...believe that God can get you out of this mess....goodluck...

My advice is for you to contact a local immigration lawyer before you leave the country.
Chances are if Buffalo does not issue you another COPR you may never be allowed back.
You should take something like an advanced payroll in the US to leave Canada.
Remmember everyone here is guessing - once you are stuck in Buffalo, nobody can help.
Ofcourse it seems you have lost the documents or misplaced them - so simply admit and apologize for the mistake, get help of a local immigration laywer. The amount it will cost you is your logical to pay for acting stupid (sorry to say) and then accusing Buffalo of wrong doing.

Hi Sridhar,
You dont need to hire a lawyer. Just visit Buffalo in person and tell them that you have misplaced your COPR and request them to issue a new one. If they can not issue a new COPR then as mentioned by Joe05 request them to issue a certified true copy of the COPR so that you can re-enter Canada as a PR.
Visit Buffalo as soon as possible.
