Hi all,
I need some help with proper way to get my employee a visa to accompany me, my wife and children on vacation. me and my wife are Canadian Citizens (non immigrants) and we have a live in caregiver that cares for our two special needs children. As we operate our own business out of our home and have children with speical behavior needs, we found it necessary to get a caregiver to help. Our caregiver has been with us for several months now and is a blessing in disguise. Life has been so much easier with her.. We have had planned a trip to Disney over Christmas with our Children and it will be necessary to have our caregiver with us for 1 week while there.
She gets along with the children and is a huge help.. to keep them in control...without her along, the trip would be a dissaster , (the children have behavioral problema and are in counceling/medications) we really need a nanny along to help out.. I need to know the proper ways to get her a 1 week visa to the US . The previous caregiver we had , we were able to get her a multiple 10 year visa to the US but we had her apply around 9 months after arriving.. My current employee has been here only 2 . What are the chances she can get a 1 week visa so soon from arrival? If she cannot get, this will be a huge inconvience for us as we will have to hire a temporary (US or Canadian) nanny to accompany us on our trip. I do not feel compfortable doing this and the children will certainly not feel as compfortable around her as they do my current caregiver. Plus I would have to leave my current caregiver alone at my house while we are gone.. not happy with that either.
Can someone tell me what my chances are to get a visa, help me with proper wording of letter for the interview at the embassy.. How should I describe this situation to the caseworker at the embassy.. If I go to the interview with my caregiver, will that help? to explain? Any advice would be appreciated.. I need to hurry and make the appointment as it takes 1 month for interview? is this correct.. I need to do this before end of October? 1st of November

Hi Paul....I don´t have much knowledge about your query however based on your posting there´s no other way but to relate the truth...show them doctor´s finding about the special needs of your children thus the need for a care-giver wherever they go...just be honest about the situation and hopefully the visa officers will see the need..maybe you can show them the work contract of your care-giver etc...these are just my thoughts on this...goodluck
