Subject: Medical exams for spouses in different countries
  Hi all,

My wife and I are temporarily working in different countries. Does anyone know of any requirements regarding the location of doing medicals? Would any location be O.K. as long as it is on the designated list? I.e. would it pose a problem if my wife and I do the medicals separately, each of us going to the designated practitioner in the country he/she is residing, or would there be a requirement that we go together to the same doctor?

Thanks much!

You do not need to go to the same doctor. As long as the doctor is on the immigration list then you are free to use them.

Yes you can do to different doctors in different countries. Get the list of approved doctors in each country from the CIC web site and just visit them with the documents that you are going to recieve from the CIC.

One important issue is that most likely the documents will be sent to you in one envelope that you are not allowed to open by yourselves. So, inform the CIC that you will do text in different countries so they can send you the documents in two different envelops one for you and one for the wife.

Good Luck

Hi Vadamov

I had similar situation in March this year. My spouse and kids were in India and I was in the US. I received envelope at my US address. Opened it..kept my docs with me done med. in the US...sent other family members med. docs. to India...they did it there using DMP in India. All set in 2 months received VISA. Now we are landed Immigrant.

Forgot to add one thing due to some reason if you have to do medicals again you have to go to same DMP with whom you had your first med..

The letter with the medical forms reads that all family members SHOULD do their exams with the same doctor. So, that´s just a preference but not a requirement? Did your letters have the same?

Thanks to all for the replies.
