hi,
i have been trying to sponsor my wife since feb 2005. the office processing her visa is London, UK.
they requested that she repeats her medical exam end of august 2005 because the first one expired (yes started the sponsorship application in aug 2004)
After some inquiries, it turned out that her immigration file is under security checking.
1- does anybody know how long it takes for security checks to be complete in the case of sponsoring spouses?
2- what are the next steps before she immigrates?
i am a PR inside canada right now and we have been lining away from each other for over a year. i thought the whole process would take 6-8 months max. thanks a lot all!

hello hopeless, my husband´s medical has also expired.
No-one knows exactly how long it takes for seccurity checking to be completed. Each case is different.
If she has to attend an interview they will let her know, at least 2 months, before the interview date.
Once everything is okay, then she will either have to go to the immigration office or send her passport to the immigration office for stamping. Once that is done she is all set to come and be with you.
Hang in there, it seems the average processing time for London is 4-9 months and you at the 8th month point. You wife should have a decision soon.

hi Katrina,
thanks a lot for your reply. I certainly hope they won´t ask for an interview because she is pregnant now. tf they delay it, she would have to deliver in Lebanon which further delays the process...
i hope your husband´s case will be sorted out soon as well.

Hi, please give me some information on how long would my sponsoring will take for my second wife in lebanon. Papers were done in September 2011. In order to bring her to Australia.
