Yes, domestic violence is considered to be a crime and it could make you inadmissible to Canada. The standard is, it the crime in Canada would have been punishable for 10 years, then you would be inadmissible.
However, if you have settled the requirement for this crime and 3 years has passed since you have met the requirement you might be deemed to be rehabilited and may be granted PR status.
You may also apply to the minister for special consideration.
