does anybody know the average time it takes for security checks in the case of spouse sponsorship.
My wife´s application is processed in London, UK. I have been tol her papers are in security checks since 2 months.
Shouldn´t it take less time in the case of spose sponsoring cases.
Please share your experience

no body knows how long a given case will take but if she´s been only in the UK since her 18th birthday then the average time is 2-4 months, but again some may take longer if any problem arise, sometimes if they suspect something due to names similarity they will make a thorough check which takes ages, but be optimistic your still within the average time

Actually she doesn´t live in London, but her file is procesed there.
She has been living in lebanon and Dubai for the last 5 years. I just hope that seurity checks for people from the Middle East do not take longer!
the issue is that she is pregnant now and giving birth ourside canada will further delay the processing of the file. Doesn´t it?

I have question concerning security check for spousal sponsorship.
Do they do a security check in each and every country my wife has been to in the last ten years, eventhough for a short period of time (vacation)?
or only they do a security check for countries she is been to for a long visits or stay?

Hi Fred,
I guess they just ask for checks in countries where she spent more than 6 months.
SHort vacations don´t count as far as i know.

yes indeed, it is depressing.
It seems the process cannot be expected, for some people it took 4 months and for others it took years.
I hope you will hear very soon from them as well!

Lebanon national average is about 6 months, may be earlier, may be not good luck

I am talking about time needed between medicals and visa for skilled worker cases, this time is mainly spared for securiy checks
