i am a canadian citizen and i went to my financial institue to pay the fees.
how can i have access to the status of my application? and it takes a month until i get the approval letter, right?

You will not have access without a receipt number that is given when you pay on-line.
You will have to wait until you get the first letter with the file number.
There will be nothing really on-line for about 3-4 weeks.
