Dude, nobody knows. Background checks can take from a few months to over a year. But, and especially now, rumors abound about quota for this year being met, and hardly anyone has gotten their PPR from Buffalo, in the last month or so. Yes it sucks, cause I´m also waiting for PPR at the moment. We actually have same time lines.

And in case you havne´t heard, all pre-2002 applicants ( 132,000 of them) will be priority before all other cases. That is, half of them will be met for 2006. Nobody knows what will happen with the wait and for how long, although wait has been projected from a few months, to three years. The only speculation is that CIC could possibly raise the annual quota, so they can be processed quicker.

Buffalo contact (in reply to: Buffalo case)
John:

I think people are getting the best response from email: buffalo-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca

Let us know what they say to you. Most peole with similar timelines are getting a response that their files will be finalized in early 2006. Best of luck to you.

Well, as for contacting them, they say not to...as it delays their work on applications, but at this point, they aren´t processing any applications, since Buffalo´s quota seems to have been met. I did contact them back in Aug. about my application, through snail mail. They sent the letter back to me, and at the bottom wrote..."your application is with our office and your meds expire in march 2006. We will review your file in 10-12 weeks." Now, this was before all the generic emails about "finalization will be done in early 2006", so I really doubt they will be looking at my case in a few more weeks.

I´m in the states, and my timeline is like yours, except IA in Feb 2005, meds in March 2006, additional documents in March 2006.

John - yeah, in a perfect world, I´d get PPR before xmas, but honestly, I just don´t see it happening, due to Buffalo not issuing any lately. As for caips, no I didn´t bother to order them. As long as they have my meds and the one letter of employment they asked for, I really don´t think I´m missing anything. Also my ROLF has been sent. Its just up to background/security checks Im sure.
