| Subject: Fastest way of getting CAIPS |

Hi everyone...
Can you please tell me how can I request CAIPS notes the fastest way... I check a few websites they all say it takes about 4-6 weeks to get the notes... is there any other way...
Can we check those online or call any number to check if they have received the stuff or not??
Any help will be appreciated...

Hi there,
There is no other option rather than wait till they send you the CAIPS notes. If you really want to know the status of your application you can contact your local MP, if you are in Canada. If you are outside Canada I don´t know whether contacting MP in the residing place works, for this you got to check with somebody else.

True. It takes 4-5 weeks, you cannot expedite the process. I don´t see even contacting an MP would help. I mean if local MO were to ask for these files then all will rush to them. And why do they need them?

For those applicants who are already living in Canada, you can directly obtain CAIPS notes. Complete the form TBC 350-57 found here

For the federal govt institution, write CIC. Next field provide your immigration file number and mention that you want to obtain CAIPS notes. Complete the rest of the form and along with a $5 money order mail to

If your friend is obtaining the notes on your behalf write a cover letter saying that you authorise him to get the information on your behalf. Your friend will have to provide proof of his residence in canada e.g. copy of his PR card or passport.
