We just got a letter from CIC in Sydney, apparently due to the fact they´re swamped under with applications, processing times for skilled workers have more than doubled to over 24 months. We applied in Jan 05, this is a sad day. Still, i appreciate that other centres have much longer processing times.

Hello JM,
I had applied in April 2004, I got a letter from CIC, Sydney saying that it would take 18-24 months. But I got my PR in May 2005. And there was a bit of a delay in my case due to some personal reason. So I dont think you need to worry.
