How relatives or friends can be a help to get CAIPS notes...can somebody tell me the whole procedure so that i could ask my friend to to place a request for me. I am a victim of PP letter that has put me under extended backgrtound check. Thanks in advance for your comments.

For those applicants who are already living in Canada, you can directly obtain CAIPS notes. Complete the form TBC 350-57 found here

For the federal govt institution, write CIC. Next field provide your immigration file number and mention that you want to obtain CAIPS notes. Complete the rest of the form and along with a $5 money order mail to

If your friend/relative is obtaining the notes on your behalf write a cover letter saying that you authorise him to get the information on your behalf.
Your friend will have to provide proof of his residence in canada e.g. copy of his PR card or passport.
