| Subject: Marriage only for purpose of immigrating |

I am currently attending university and have met a young man from africa, but who was studying in france before coming here. I like him very much. However I am being careful because I have heard that some men from 3rd world countries come to canada to find a spouse only because it makes it easier to immigrate. I don´t necessarily think that his intentions are wrong, but I would still like to keep my mind open to the possibility. I have been searching on the internet for information on this, and would like to know where I could find some. Can anyone help me?

I think you should be upfront with him and ask him what his real intentions are... I guess there´s a lot of people who have married for immigration purposes , but I think would not be fair to judge everybody by them. By the other hand I cannot tell what I really think because I know there could be come people in this forum who think they know everything and they always give their two cents word to tell who is good and who is not for this country, but I am sure those people don´t know what hunger means . I think people have the right to have a better life, what is not correct is to use somebody and play with the feelings of other people.

it will take a very long time to know the truth. Something to consider- if you sponsor him as your spouse and he takes off, you are still financially liable for him for 3 years! Depending on where in Africa... the application time is not that long to come as a skilled worker. Let him come on his own 2 feet and without ties to promises of marriage. Help him, support him... whatever you like but you will know your relationship is for love, not immigration! This is what I am doing and time is proving the love is real and we have been able to move forward together will real confidence and freedom.

I am from Romania i am a wemen, and i look for marriage with a canadian cytizen . I have 40 yers old ,i have a son 14 yers old , i am prety wemen,i belive in God,and i am a onest person who love life, and i wish from all my heart to become a canadian cityzen ,and to find a good man .
