Subject: Question about current empolyment !!
Last week I got my IA. They sent me medical forms and requested proof of my current employment.
Actually, I´m student full-time in college and have 11 month baby. I don´t work, but study and take care of my baby. What should I submit in this case?
One more question, I used to work as Assistant Manager in restaurants and they paid me by cash. During maternity leave and after I worked sometimes in the office and they paid me by check (part-time). This office job is not related to be qualified as a skilled worker in Canada. I got W-2 and pay stubs only from them.
At the end of the year I paid taxes from the minimum wage.
Now, what should I send them as a proof of my current employment? Can I present my student status without working and will be OK? Should I show them my W-2 and pay stubs from office job? What´s about working for cash?
Any ideas, let me know. I will be more than happy to hear something from you, guys.
Thanks!

Thanks for the timeline Anna, Now I will answer your questions :) Ok If I were you or in your situation, I would present my student status proof and records like I-20, transcripts, grade reports etc and also a letter from your Dean or School saying you are currently enrolled as a full time student from this date to present. Also write a personal letter to Consulate general or CIC stating I was on maternity leave since this and this date to this date and now I am currently pursuing a full time course or study (and submit proof of ur student status with letters from college, dean and transcripts, I-20 etc). Also mention in your letter to CIC that prior to all this you do have real time work experience as you mentioned in your canadian application for SW category and if you have any proof of that prior employment you have mentioned to CIC in your application show proof again (photocopies notarized) submit it again even if u have done it before..proof of prior employment like W-2´s, previous employment experience letters from past employers, paystubs, etc etc will help, Writing a personal detailed letter in your case is important and submit as much proof documentation as possible to support your claims. Regarding the cash employment you took or did dont even mention it and dont send those W-2´s to CIC it might adversely reflect on your case. Hope this helps. Also please tell me your exact date of AOR and IA thanks good luck

I forgot to mention this to you mention clearly in your letter to CIC that you are studying now to enhance your skillsets to further employment prospects in canada for yourself and explain to them in a paragraph or so the nature of your current studies and how it will improve your prospects with relation to your past work experience and degree´s to get yourself a better paid job or better marketability etc this way CIC will be convinced of your true intentions even if the letter is 4 or 5 pages long dont worry type it and make the points clear good luck dont forget to tell me exact date when u received your AOR and also IA later
