Hi all,
I got a mail from the immigration office in Accra that my file has been selected for accelerated processing. I´d like to know what accelerated processing entails and how long it will take.

I guess you are a Nigerian, when did you send your application? I am a Nigerian too and sent mine since 2001. I heard that they are dealing with July applicants now? I am sorry I can´t answer your question, this is the first time I am reading about accelerated Processing. I hope someone here will be able to give you an answer.

I sent mine in 2001, August to be precise. I got the mail two weeks ago.

this is due to settlement agreement, visa offices are obliged by court order to finish pre 2002 applications before specific deadlines, so they are processing these applications in a fast manner, details are on cic website.

What type of application did you submit? When was your application submitted? Once these questions are answered we might be able to figure out what accelerated processing you are receiving.

I submitted the Federal skilled worker in 2001. The mail I received reads thus:
There now exists an opportunity for accelerated processing of your case.
My CAIPS notes states that my file will reviewed on Nov 11 for PSQ.
Hope the information is adequate.

Yes, under the settlement agreement, CIC has to get your application completed by a specified time, hence the need for accelerated processing.
It´s funny that they call it accelarated processing when they had your file since 2001. If they were not forced to complete your case before a specified time, one wonders when they would get around to your file.
