Subject: Police Clearance

Dear All,

I stayed in India for 10 years after the age of 18 and then came to usa to study and therafter got employed here.

Could you please advise how to get police clearance from india without actually visting India. Do you have to have finger printed in India etc.

Offcourse in US we have to get FBI clearance which i can go through.

Please advise these delicate procedures.

I believe you can get it from the Indian Consulate in your area (in the US).

Is it necessary (in reply to: Police Clearance)
I was wondering if its even necessary to get a police clearance certificate from India. Let me know. I have my interview scheduled in Dec last week and all that they asked is police clearance certificate and i am getting it from the FBI here in VA.

Police Clearance (in reply to: Police Clearance)

Hi Anonymous 142.180.1

I was staying in India from 18 to 27th birthday and then shifted to US for studies and later job. Have been in US for last 4 years.

That´s why I need to know if I should get police clearance from India too.

Has anyone in similar situation been asked ??

Hi,

You can visit the fllowing web site for the PCC from India.
http://www.indianembassy.org. Send the application form to your nearest office. I would suggest keep a photocopy of all the papers that you send so that in case you do not receive the letter in 45 days you can do a follow up.

Thanks,
GHJ
