In March 2004, my wife (Canadian sponsor) and I (applicant) have applied for P.R. in the spouse category. In early June 2004 they informed me that they had created a file for my application in the Canadian Consulate in Buffalo. However, since then I have not heard anything from them. According to their statistics, 30% of cases are completed within 8 months, 50% within 11 months and 80% within 19 months.
My case is genuine. We got married in Ontario 3 years ago, have one son and I financially support my family with the money I get from the school. I have 16 years of education, including 2 master degrees and have no criminal record in any country I have visited. So apparently, this should be routine case for them.
My problem is that I´m a student in the US and I´m about to finish my current program. Once I´m finished in December, my legal status as a student in the US is over, which means I get no money from the school and I´m not entitled to work and I have to leave the US!. Besides, my nationality requires visitors visa to enter Canada. I´m worried that the statistics suggest that is very unlikely I will get my P.R. by December... Should I send a letter explaining my situtation to Buffalo? (They recommend not to do so as it delays the processing) or shall I wait until Decemeber? Should I hire a lawyer in Canada?
Thanks for your help!

hello (in reply to: Advise) was sure that the line "we have met the enemy and he is us" is from Shakespeare, but I cannot find it anywhere! Can you help?
