Subject: On quota rumors
  To all interested:
Called Buffalo today, talked to officer, want to report : all rumors about quota reached are false. Largest problem is a backlog in background check. Canada Security works very slow in this regard.
According to the officer it takes sometimes up to 2 years to finish this latest part of the process

It is possible if you have Canada Government phonebook handy. Friend of mine found a direct number of my officer.
And some might be surprised, but they talk and answer questions ok.

(in reply to: On quota rumors)
The number provided by Departure Bay has answering machine only on the other end.
With regard to the officer´s name - this the name I have on all mail correspondence. When they request information the designated officer signes it, when they answer on questions it usually doesn´t have any names.

Please don´t tell me you called just to check... God help us all. Wonder how many other people called and annoyed the %^&* out of everyone so they simply went home early.

I agree with Sharon. If we stop sending them faxes and calling them up - just to find if they got the last 10 faxes we sent, maybe we will start getting results from CIC.

communication (in reply to: On quota rumors)
Hey, we pay a fair fee for their services. It is not unreasonable that we expect some communication about the status of our cases--especially when they go over the anticipated timelines.

I don´t think we shoud bug them constantly, but it is reasonable to expect them to communciate and treat us like human beings, not sacks of flour.

Just an online update, is that too much to ask for? (in reply to: On quota rumors)
I agree with Tim. I understand it is not our right but a privilage to immigrate to Canada, but Canada is not doing it with an altruistic heart either. They need us as much as we need them. It is a simple economics. But I see a lack of great deal of respect from other side. If we seem desperate, it is because we make plans as per the existing circumstances. Every one of us is a busy professional, and we want to get started as soon as possible. Now if we have to wait for years beyond the expected date, at least it would be reasonable for them to tell us what is happening with our application(Boy! we ever be able to track our application like UPS shipment?). What ever revenue is being collected as an application fee, is it being used to make the system more efficient and hire more people or being funneled to some thing else? If thats what it takes, more money, they should probably increase the fee. But, they should be honest enough to use it to make the system better.

If Canada wants PhDs and MDs and MEs just to deliver pizza, then it does not even matter. If it is looking for professionals-bright and the brightest, then it would better make sure it gets people when they are at the top, not when they are already frustrated and half dead by the time they reach Canada. Just a bit of respect, is that too much to ask for? Just a rgular update, is that too much to ask from a prospective citizen to its future government?

Hey dudes,

if you don´t like it that much, then don´t come to Canada.

Bunch of crybabies.

the only people saying we have to wait longer is ourselves. we get ourselves ranting, raving and speculating until we are in an immigration frenzy!

I agree that eclient was supposed to act like a UPS tracking system and it does not work very well. That, for sure, should be improved.
