Never heard that one before. I would assume, it totally depends on your circumstances. A stable couple might sound more realistic and serious..but then a single would too depending upon his/her case.

This may be the case possibly during the background check.
A couple seems "harmless", an "individual" may come under more checks. The difference may be there. However, the initial processing times are usually the same.

MYTH.
The processing time will not be shorter BUT it can be longer than for an individual.
Why .......... because in the case of a couple they have to perform background and security checks for two people. Visa will not be issued unless the checks are complete for both of them.
