I want to know what the date means on BDEC.
my CAIPS says:

BDEC 11-xx-xxxx

There is no code it´s just blank but there is a date. If the date indicates the date when background check stated, do they sometimes start it right after AOR? The date on BDEC is just a week after the day they started the process(AOR).

If there is no number next to it...means its on-going. The date is the physical date when they started the BDEC.

Yes, it is just after the AOR. Contrary to common misconception, Background check starts right after AOR and not after IA.

Hope it helps...

ME,

What is your source for the information. i.e. Background Check starts right after AOR?

For the few cases that I know, all of us have the BDEC date about 1 week after AOR.

Please note I have a date besides by BDEC, and my latest caips showed that file was send to officer for final review.
Now just a date besides BDEC doesnt mean its pending, I beleive that "cleared/pending/failed" is more transparent to CIC on their database, which is not reflected on caips.
I think 6 months after medicals is good enough to clear all kind of checks for most countries.
Finally I dont think its anything with BDEC etc, its just the quota ( early 2006 theory), most mid 2004 applicants are waiting for passport request.
If you bother CIC too much after medicals, they update your estatus "medicals received" Nothing more than that.
My caips shows final review August 2005, yet I am waiting, with no change on estatus.

IF YOU HAVE RECEIVED AN INTERVIEW WAIVER, PAID LANDING FEE, SUBMITTED THE ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS THERE IS NO NEED TO WORRY, JUST WAIT TILL EARLY 2006.

Nop.. it is not logical from their side to start a hefty BG check without an initial assessement..
