I was just wondering if i get canadnian PR visa approved, can i settle in quebec without a problem or do we need to go through the quebec selection process....iits just that i would rather have the canadian PR visa than quebec PR as if i cant find work in quebebc i can easily move to another provice e.g. ontario.

It´s not a QC PR visa or a CDN PR visa there is only one visa issue authority in Canada and that the Federal government and they issue a Canadian PR Visa.

Whether you apply through QC or ON or NS, everyone receives Cdn PR visa. If you believe applying thorough QC will make the process faster you can do that and once you arrive in Quebec and after you get your PR card you can move to any other province.

The Qu?bec and federal governments share jurisdiction with respect to immigration. Qu?bec is responsible for selecting immigrants wishing to settle within its territory and who will enter the labour market. Canada is responsible for their admission.

The authority of Qu?bec over selection is exclusive and is exercised according to criteria that it has adopted in light of its needs from the standpoint of immigration. To be selected, you must satisfy the prerequisites of one of the three programs for workers established by the Qu?bec government.

If your application is accepted, you will receive a Certificat de s?lection du Qu?bec, the official immigration document issued by the Qu?bec government.

The Government of Canada admits to Qu?bec solely those worker candidates that Qu?bec has selected.

To be admitted, you must successfully undergo a medical examination and the security checks required by the Government of Canada. You will then receive an immigrant visa.

Katrina is right except in the pit that if you immigrate to Quebec and once landed and receive your PR card you can simply go anywhere in Canada, this is not accurate though theoritically ture but all quebec applicants need to sign a declaration that they intend to settle in the provice of Quebec, if later on CIC discovered that you lied in this, they can take you to court and revoke your status.

mts where have you heard or read about such a thing???? Quebec applicants need to sign a declaration that they intend to settle in Quebec, the key word is INTEND, therefore nothing oblige them to not change their intention....but still if you have any documents that support your statements please share it with us

there is nothing wrong in moving outside quebec if you really inteded to live in Quebec and made a serious effor to settle there but failed.
But if you moved outside quebec immediately after landing then this means you only used quebec system to immigrate to Canada not to immigrate to Quebec.
There have been some cases taken to court and unless you can prove you have made efforts to settle in Canada they will consider you lied in your application

you may land in toronto if you will head to Quebec afterward, but you may not settle in a province other than Quebec upon arrival.
regarding cases I read one in a web site long time ago I don´t have it right now, but there are more cases the same way for PNP applicants,
