Buffalo normally only scheduled the security interview. I attended such an interview in Buffalo on July 11 of 2005. The 3.5-hour interview is more like an interrogation than an interview. Be well prepared. They were trying to find out the incosistency in your statement. They asked millions of detailed questions. And they simply did not belive you. The officer is not from CIC but from CSIS. You will be questioned in a very narrow room with only a table and a chair.
My timeline of application:
04/2002 Applied
08/2003 ME and fingerprints, updated documents, etc
07/2005 Security interview in Buffalo
I wrote a letter to CSIS in Ottawa, they replied that they recieved my file but the processing was in progress.

Could you please elborate on how to get information from CSIS if your BG Check is over?
I believe the file you mention is in ref. to BG check, is it?
This will be a great help man, as I have been waiting for the BG check to be over for past 11 months now.

Write a letter to CSIS Ottawa and give your name, file number, DOB and state that the background check for you has been a long time. They will reply in 30 days.

To Jura: The letter is nothing special. Just ask me to attend the interview in Buffalo with the birth certificate, passport, driver´s license, educational certificate, marriage/divorce document, etc. But let me tell you, the interview in Buffalo itself is very strange, as it is just for security interview only. The officer from CSIS judge you not only from the reply for questions but also from your behavior.
