Subject: Urgent: PR VisaStamping at LA Questions & Concerns
  Hi All,

I live in the bay area in the US and received the letter from the Canadian Consulate in LA requesting me to submit passports of my family for stamping and sent them by courier to the consulate. It is about 14 days now since sending the passports (& change of address to send back passports to me instead of my lawyers in Canada) and I have not heard from them. While checking the web site for status, it states that a decision has been taken.

1. Does anyone know how long it is taking the consulate in LA to complete the stamping process.
2. The letter from Consulate stated that the passports would be sent back by Certified / Registered Post. Is this the standard policy of the COnsulate?
3. I did not enclose any return envelope since my lawyers (in Canada) told me that the COnsulate ignores them and uses the USPS only. Is this standard procedure.

I would really appreciate anyone who has information on the above replies to my questions. I am very concerned as my passports have not been returned back to me.

Thanks in advance.

Rajesh Krishnan.

Rajesh, if this helps, for us it took exactly 9 days for the turnaround from the day it was sent to the day it came back to us, of course this was with the Buffalo Consulate. Is there a reason why yours is bewing processed by the LA Consulate..?!!
