(in reply to: why Canada is so sucks for living?) why are you still here? going back to your origin is better than mumbling about the country that has been existed for hundred yrs. every country has its own priority, I am not canadian but I have been living in canada since not too long ago and I am happy here and what I do. Wherever you are dude, face the truth, and look at yourself, maybe you are not qualified for your dream job here. It´s true, finding a job here is not as easy as in the US, no doubt. I had lived in the states for nearly 9 yrs so I know what u feel. If you were employer, would you hire a newcomer rather than canadian? cmon..we all know the reason. just try your best, man..someday you are there. goodluck!

It does suck, why are we arguing? (in reply to: why Canada is so sucks for living?) I am Canadian born, things are no easier for me nonetheless. Our government is a bunch of greedy c*m-sucking swine and the worst part of it is the fact that we do NOTHING ABOUT IT. Americans would revolt if they had to pay what we do. Life there is better and easier. But there you will be living in a constant state of war. That is what drives their economy. Canadian economy is tax driven. Does that make sense to anyone? Isn´t that backwards? How do you drive an economy by taxing people? WE ARE TO BLAME. Until WE revolt we cannot expect any better. There are three levels of government. Municipal, provincial and federal. Municipalities not too long ago were left to dry by making them responsible for there own roads, sewers, etc. With the vast expanse of spaces between cities, small towns were now in charge of large spaces expanding beyond there cities reaches. Now they deem them townships or municipalities and such crap like that. Now the smallest governments have the biggest debts. Larger cities like Toronto can bitch for a piece of the pie when it comes to getting portions of the gas tax revenue (which is a whole different story with Canada being USA´s major supplier of oil--> not Saudi Arabia!!). Because of the size of these larger cities, they will have some considerable pull. But what about the smaller cities? We (Me too!) pay Toronto rated property taxes, but receive none of the benefits from paying that much. The largest portion of money goes to the government with the least proportional amount of expenditures--> the Federal body. With municipalities taking care of our needs, what does the federal government really do? Vote on pay raises for themselves. Here´s a good little side note. The federals have set up an increase in minimum wage for the next couple of years. This is the stupidest thing that could happen and Canadians and the most common quote by ignorant sheep is "it´s about time!" Let´s just disect this for one moment. Due to the governments raping of not only individuals, but also small business owners as well of their blood, sweat and tears, a company´s cost of operating now goes up. It´s basic business theories here people, not rocket science. Now prices go up. What does this do? It increases the cost of everyday items. It takes the people scratching by on slightly higher than minimum wage to now be AT Minimum wage. What salary they got that was "okay" is now a "holy sh#t, I have no money to pay that fee/fine/bill" or other red-tape hoop that the government wants you to jump through at this particular time. It is a game. "How much can they take?" the government wonders. Apparently alot. Another example. GST has gone from 8% to 7% in one year, to 6% for the second year. That was a promise from the government. They came through, and despite cries for the reversal of this (ONLY 6 MONTHS INTO THE FIRST DROP OF 1% THE FIRST YEAR) have now dropped it to 6% for 2008. Our total sales taxes now equal 13% of the purchase price. They bally-hooed themselves for that one. But what part of the story did they bury? Perhaps it is the income tax increase that mirrored the drop in GST. The first year it increased 0.5%, and now, this year, it increased another 0.5%. Are we mushrooms? It seems we are, since we are kept in the dark and fed "you know what". I would gladly still pay 15% taxes on what I buy than 1% on EVERYTHING I make. If the common consumer can be considered me, then consider I would estimate I spend $6,000 a year on just bullcrap stuff that I would want. Why that low? The pre-taxes on that stuff I can get from the division of 6000 / 1.13 = $5,309.73. If it was still 15% then 6000 / 1.15 = $5217.39. So I have bought $92.34 more stuff for the same gross price. Say I am on a yearly salary of $35,000 (which I actually count as the poverty line, since it is scraping by in this society) and I calculate, then: 35,000 x .01 = $350.00. Where are my savings? I have paid $257.66 more than I have saved. That is the new Canada. Less for more. Take into account the "health care premium" that was introduced. Based on your income, they take a percentage of what you make to go "directly" to health care. They call it a premium in lieu of income tax increase because it sounds so much nicer. Isn´t that sweet? A "premium" on health care. In reality, our health care system is a joke. I would much rather pay $200.00 a month for health insurance in the states and receive far better treatment. In my area, there was once two hospitals. Two towns, A and B, whose populations are 13,000 and 15,000 respectfully. These towns are 10 KM from town hall to town hall. Popluations increase, so these towns were now at a population of about 17,000 each. Now a debate starts to upgrade the existing hospitals or build a new one. Town A had a hospital that was funded by the community. It had a heliport and was built to structurally hold another floor if expansion was needed. (I was delivered here, if it makes any difference) The other (in town B) was government funded, and constructed in a city block near downtown with no area to expand. Through politics and tom-foolery, it is decided to build a brand new hospital in town B. Town A´s hospital is shut down and is then turned into a retirement home by a private owner. So, the expandable (up and back as there is a field behind it) hospital, paid for by the people of that town, is now making money for a private investor. The community gets nothing out of it. Shouldn´t be a problem, should it? New hospital has a helicoptor landing pad ( a major issue in the debate - which town A´s hospital already had) and should be outfitted with all the latest and greatest equipment. Should be fine. WRONG. Thanks to understaffing, a stop into emergency should have you calculating at least a 6 hour wait. 4 hours if your lucky, which I have been once. They only staff emergency with 1 doctor. Out of 3-4 wings, only one is opened. They will not open the other wings to save on staff. At the same time, people are being turned down because "there are no beds available" Well, there are, you just don´t want to open it. Now with the population increase which time invariably causes, MORE people have gone from 2 hospitals, to 1 F**king wing. Thus, the wool gets pulled over our eyes and Canadians spend their time b*tching and moaning, but only to EACH OTHER. NOT to anyone who *might* (and this is always a long shot) be able to actually do something about it. We are the Proletariats. We are the mushrooms. We are kept in the dark and fed crap. And we swallow it. We should be revolting. But we do not know what to do. So we attack those coming to our country who complain. We should be heeding those comments. We should be listening and saying, if this person who comes here says it´s hard to live here, what does that say about the country they have came from? Presumably people come here for the lifestyle, and in alot of situations, for peace. When people coming from another country where life is supposedly so much harder that they leave, come here and say, "Man, it´s hard to make ends meet here" we should be mad not at them, but our own selves and our country (AFTER ALL, IT WAS YOU WHO GOOGLED/YAHOOED/MSN SEARCHED THE WORDS CANADA SUCKS/LIFE IN CANADA SUCKS OR THE LIKE TO VIEW THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!). It is not about race, or political correctness, it is about life. I am white. It is not about race, since we were all immigrants at some point in our lineage(excusing of course, Native Canadians). I spoke to my grandfather who came to this country about what his life was like before and after he came here. He came here to escape war and he came with his family. In today´s society, he would not have been able to make ends meet. It is too hard. Therfore we must contend that race is not an issue, however being an A**hole is. Red, white, purple or black is not of any signifigance anymore, just attitude. So please refrain from attacking others and telling them to go back to where they came from because they complain that life is hard here. You should be saying "You´re bloody well right it is!" and commenting on the problems after that fact. How can we not see that these newcomers are right. Sure you can still scrape by, and have a nicer car while doing it, but what advantage do you get out of it? Life becomes harder and more stressfull the more things you own. The risk now becomes scraping by to try not to lose what you have gained. We must not settle for this. Freedom is our right, yet we only have priviledge. Not freedom. We have priviledge to obtain a permit to do something, even on our own properties, not the freedom to do so. I have created the email:
no-freedom-now@hotmail.com just to hear about other Canadians opinions on this. We must band together and fight this injustice, since if our ancestors had merely settled like we do and simply said, "It´s the best system we´ve had yet, so it´s not really that bad" then we would still be part of an empire. Join together, share stories, and set up dates to protest this injustice. Only when WE act will anything get changed. I will take the time to set up a mailing list, and will forward stories to others who mail me infuriated by what we take up the derriere every single day of our lives. This is my time, and this is truly a worthy cause so I will spend the time to do it. We must do something, as it is only getting worse. Copy this message and forward it to your friends. I don´t think the geniuses who think up viruses have quite gotten to the cut and paste feature on computers from a text document...yet anyway. So here will be a safe way to spread the word that, yes, others are pi**ed off too. If we organize (similar to how the governments organize) we can become a big enough force to have our voices heard. Let´s unite Canada, not with a railroad, but with hope for change and a lessening of corruption and greed withing the powers that be. Do you really care if the politicians live high on the hog in their positions? I don´t... as long as the people they are supposed to look after and WORK FOR are taken care of. And we, definitely, are NOT.
Spread the word, that others feel the same, and stop grumbling to yourself on the couch and ruining the few holidays you have with family by venting your frustration with life in this otherwise beautiful country. Alone we can do nothing. Together we can change the world, but we need to start with our own country, and our own lives.

PS -> Sorry about the long post, should have just started writing a book, but this should reach more people. I will wait to see if the people around me get word of this, without me directing them, as they will not know it was me writing this. I want to see how outraged Canadians really are, and how talkative we really are. I hope, for all our sakes, that it is alot.

you're a joke Nipzie. (in reply to: why Canada is so sucks for living?) Get the fuck out of your country if you hate it that much.
I got through like 4 sentences. I don´t think it makes your point any stronger by using insulting names to prove something.
Secondly, you´re not going to evoke much response because Canadiana as you should know are peace keepers, and we have better things to do than to reply to bullshit like yours. I wouls rather pay the piddly 5 dollars on every $100 that I spend to have free healthcare, a safe and free country and we are loved worldwide. Reasses whats important in life buddy and you might realize just how lucky you are. Canada is the best place to live in the world!

Lindsay, you are part of the problem. (in reply to: why Canada is so sucks for living?) Lindsay, if you cannot even take the time to read the post, why are you arguing? You are part of the problem, a brainwashed puppet, who has no consciousness of the world around her. Your attention span is 4 sentences long and I´m not sure you are even old enough to pay taxes, as you would realize that it´s more like $70 out of $100 to get crappy healthcare. I would rather save money on taxes and pay for health insurance to receive great healthcare. Canada´s standard of living is dropping at a phenominal rate, and if you can´t see that, you must not be out of your teens and you must have your head up your @$$. Or, you are just ignorant of the world around you. The fact that we are loved (mostly) worldwide is a great thing, and I do not want to change our peace keeping world status, I just want the government to work FOR the people, as it should.

this is unnecessarily painful to read (in reply to: why Canada is so sucks for living?) To the creator of this thread (hossein or ted, whatever you call yourself, PLEASE READ THIS, I WROTE IT VERY SERIOUSLY AND I HOPE YOU TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE FACT THAT DRASTICALLY UNINFORMED CITIZENS ARE A MUCH LARGER PROBLEM THAN CANADA´S FAULTS-
The following sentences are excerpts from your terribly written argument (for obvious reasons I chose to include three sentences instead of your entire paragraph). I am going to conclude this with a response to what I did understand in the last paragraph, so bear with me here.
For those of you who are not ted or hossein, and have been well educated, please skip to the last paragraph unless you have some time on your hands and want to make yourself feel better by reading my rant against people who make no effort to actually give productive or interesting input, yet constantly complain about things they don´t understand.
"Why canada is so sucks for living?"
"What is the special about canada?"
"Why we don´t have any organization to get and watch are government and punish them?"
WOW. Are you kidding me? How can you critique an entire country when you can barely speak English ? I do not mean to insult you for bad grammar. I am bilingual myself and know the difficulty of learning a new language, but I think you need to realize just how hard it is to understand your writing. The thing is, someone still learning a language would not attempt to write on such a difficult subject in a forum like this. Even in concept, think about the title of the thread for five seconds. No matter where you´re from, you must have learned the word "suck" from somewhere, and it is obviously not a noun. My point is that if you want to explain your thoughts on why Canada is a terrible country, maybe you should do it without flaunting your lack of eduction. If you seriously don´t notice how ridiculous that paragraph reads, don´t you think it would stand to reason that you wouldn´t notice how idiotic your reasoning is?
Making a "happy nation," as you put it, is not quite as simple as cutting taxes and decreasing the cost of living. These costs actually go toward funding government projects and health care. If it were as easy as that, there would be no taxes would there be? Homeless problems and the high cost of living are more or less a product of the ECONOMY and the government´s interaction with the people. Please familiarize yourself with the word economy if you´re going to complain about your money issues. I agree that Canada does have many problems, but you are clearly overstating them and there is no way you could possibly have an accurate grasp on the country just by your limited experiences.

just wanted to add this (in reply to: why Canada is so sucks for living?) I don´t post on sites like this, I came across it looking for something else entirely. Didn´t know the rules and didn´t want my effort to be wasted, so this second post is dedicated to express my overall feeling toward the subject - I´m actually from the US by the way.
NO ONE GIVES A FUCK ABOUT YOUR GODDAMN MONEY PROBLEMS OK? GET A REAL FUCKIN JOB AND LEARN HOW TO SPEAK ENGLISH. ITS NO GREAT MYSTERY WHY YOU ONLY PAID $100 FOR SCHOOL IN LA, AND IT OBVIOUSLY WAS NOT EVEN WORTH THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY. THANKS FOR POLLUTING THE WORLD WITH ALL OF YOUR BULLSHIT. AND OH YEAH, $500,000 IS NOT ENOUGH TO IMPROVE THE HOMELESS PROBLEM IN ANY WAY, PLEASE THINK BEFORE YOU POST, DUMBFUCK.

Lots of Land\Houses for EVERY CDN. (in reply to: why Canada is so sucks for living?) Our Health care SUCKS, whats new? !
Here´s some simple arithmetic for us Canadians.
Canada´s land size = 2,560,000,000 (2.5 Billion acres) !
out of that lets give YOU the benefit of the doubt and cut that in half (for nice liveable land).
Now, out of 30 million population say 20 million are between 18 -> 65 years old.
2.5 Billion / 20 million = 128 acres per eligible Canadian person !
Now once again lets "give" 127 acres of each of the 20 million eligible Canadians back to all the Farmers, gov´t, whatever.
EVEN THAT would easily and cheaply leave "1 ACRE" of Land to each Canadian citizen with LOTS to spare for dozens of generations to come.
Hello, Its not just our Health care that we are getting FUKKKKED ON !!!
Yes, I am Canadian, and I agree with the fact that our Gov´t, and Real Estate Corporations,...,.. are about as corrupt as you can get.
wait a minute, it cost $1,000,000.00 for a measlt 33 foot lot in Vancouver ?!!!
We Canadian are one stupid bunch of Beavers´ (suckers).!
