Subject: scope for hair stylist /beautician in toronto
Hi!
I am a prospectus immigrant due to land in toronto in June 2009
I am a hair stylist and my wife is a beautician. I want to know whether we can start our work right away or do we need to have some sort of license or candadian experience before we could get job or start our independant work

Hair Stylist / Beautician (in reply to: scope for hair stylist /beautician in toronto)
Hi Sirius,
No, you don´t need any licence neither does your wife. All you need is to come to Toronto and start working. Find a place where to work and start working. Depending on your experience that will decide how fast you will find a job and how much you will get paid - that is the most important thing - experience - in this case anyway.

Good luck. Sam

Hello!
I just found your posting here. I´m a real estate agent. I have execitive hair salon for sale in Yonge/Lawrence area - one of the best areas of the city.
SEE VIRTUAL TOUR:

It´s just breathtaking. Elaborate Renovation (About 600K Spent) Took Over A Year, Custom Furniture, Marble Tables, Unique Light Fixtures Etc. Partially Finished Huge Basement W/High Ceiling might be good for classes or other uses. The asking price now is $399,000, the price is very negotiable as the seller is VERY motivated.
Please let me know if you are interested.

Real estate agents get a life !!! (in reply to: scope for hair stylist /beautician in toronto)
Hello,

Firstly I would like to address the issue of a license. I am affraid there is a licensing authority here, however if you bring your cetification from where you are from and go into the office at the top of church street, they will tell you what you need to do. Now Salon owners will employ you without a license and a good place for the both of you to get intouch with is www.themarshallgroup.ca and Mary Anne Marshall is a great help and doesn´t charge for her services and knows who are the best salon´s in the city. I am a stylist from overseas who has used her services, Good luck.

As for the the real estate agent .... YOU KNOW HOW THIS CITY WORKS and if you were thinking of someone other than your self, you should be telling this person all the red tape they need to go through in order to open a business and especially a salon!!! Now I am sure you are a good person, please be a little more helpful if you are going to answer posts.
