Subject: Universities in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick
Hey,
I never get to hear much info about colleges and uni´s in these areas in Canada. Does anyone know about them and their reputation and compatability with Ontario and U.S universities?

Acadia, Dalhousie, U of New Brunswick and St. Francis Xavier? Anything else? How good are they? What is it like to be a student in these towns and the province?

Thanks, would apprciate a quick reply!

Go to St Francis Xavier. It is the best university in Canada.

I agree, choose St Francis Xavier - you can´t go wrong there. Excellent professors, good student life, respected univeristy.

GOod luck,

What are you planning to take - what program?
That also makes a difference. One program could be better at one University and another program at another university.

I am planning on taking English Literature. I have done research for St. FX and Dalhousie and they seem to be the best of all of the universities in the area. However, they do not get alot of attention from where I am from (in Timmins, Ont). Why is that?

Thanks alot anyway!

PS: If anyone can recommend any universities in Ontario, that will be great as well.

Dalhousie (in reply to: Universities in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick)
I think Dalhousie would be a good choice for you. Over half of the students are from out of province, and only about 30% are actually from around the Halifax area. Plus the East Coast is fun, and perfect for students. Four universities all in a city of 360,000. Plus it is well respected and well know pretty much everywhere... seing as alot of the students at Dal are from elsewhere... mainly Ontario. Damn good graduate programs.... medicine, law etc.. and not in a little town like St FX.
Even though that is a fantastic school itself, it didnt rank #1 a few years in a row for no reason.
