This report was compiled in 1998. It is a very "out-dated" report.
I can´t agree Queen´s was ranked that low.

well overall these rankings are consistent with todays rankings except maybe for queen´s and waterloo. The guy who makes these does it for universities all over the world and has been for almost 40 years. Compare that to maclean´s which has been doing it for about 15 years.

Queen´s is good, but is very overrated. Queen´s is good for undergrad, but I´ve never heard about anyone going to Queens for graduate school. If bigger cities you have better resources, better Profs, and more co-op opportunities.

Waterloo is the best in Canada for Computer science and electrical engineering, and is good for accounting, but other than that, it?s like any other university. Its not even highly cited in research other than computers.

It´s funny how you say these rankings are out dated when in Maclean´s rakings, the positions haven´t really changed at all in 10 years. That´s biased.

When looking at a ranking you have to look at what was ranked and the weight. Let me assure you this much, there is No way Queens University and the university of Waterloo should ever be ranked below York, and if you believe this report, then may be you do belong at York. Ask any employer where they would like to get their grads, and they will say Waterloo, and if you believe otherwise, well I guess you have not been paying attention.

"Waterloo is the best in Canada for Computer science and electrical engineering, and is good for accounting, but other than that, it?s like any other university. Its not even highly cited in research other than computers. "

Then why McMaster has been ranked in the fourth place?? What does it excel?

At least Maclean´s latest ranking was in 2005 but the Gourman report was in 1998. What is the ranking for Ryerson, Nippising, UNBC and UOIT?

Finally, do you agree York was ranked higher than Queen´s, Waterloo and Western in Ontario? Yes or No?

all I´m saying is that Maclean´s is a Canadian magazine, where the Gourman Report is a ranking that is very internationally known.

maclean´s is very biased and only known in Canada. I have cousins that go to Princeton and Oxford and they have never heard of Maclean´s University rankings, but everyone knows of the Gourmen Report

If you just pay attention to Maclean´s rankings, then your going to have biased views. Their rankings haven´t changed since 1992 at all really.
