1. Do you agree York has been ranked higher than Queen´s & Waterloo?
Yes or No?
2. Do you agree McMaster has been ranked in the fourth place?
Yes or No?

Just ask these 2 questions to yourself and you will know whether this report is biased or not.

Why do you think Macleans is biased? Just because the rankings dont change much, doesn´t mean that the ranking is biased. What makes you think that the rankings should constantly be changing?

I would think that a Canadian ranking of Canadian universities is more accurate than a ranking done in the states.

BTW, the princeton review has nothing to do with princeton university.

"I would think that a Canadian ranking of Canadian universities is more accurate than a ranking done in the states."

How? That would actually lead to more bias, then having an outside, international view.

BTW, the Maclean´s rankings is based off of one American newpaper rankings system.

Only certain Canadians pay attention to the Macleans rankings. The rest of the world reads rankings from internationally reputable publications and institutions. So if you´re gonna study/work in Canada, read Maclean´s. If you´re gonna be international, read international rankings.

Not to say that York belongs so high up in this Gourman thing - that badly contradicts other international rankings. Queen´s is weird - I´ve only ever seen it ranked highly by Maclean´s; it doesn´t do well in international rankings.

The above ranking must be biased.
Why?
Obviously, a university with a med school must have an advantage over the others which don´t have one.

No, that ranking is not biased. That ranking tells how much research is going on in the University itself, by indicating how much money each institution is getting for research, and for research per-faculty member. That´s from Research Infosource, which just complies figures in showing how much research activity a University is doing. Medical schools always get more because they are overall more reputable because of the extensive research they do. Don´t say something is biased when you have no idea what it represents.

"Obviously, a university with a med school must have an advantage over the others which don?t have one"

Well yeah, because Medical schools are well known and reputable outside of Canada. They do extensive research and get lots of money because they are the best in Canada.
