i dunno why, but i cant reply to the other A and AS Level topic.

AS means Advanced Subsidary Levels. Actually theres no differece between Advanced Supplementary Level & Advanced Subsidiary Levels. Nowadays, only Advanced Subsidiary Levels are offered.

W, as you are canadian there is no way UofT will decline you and you should get into mcgill easily. Ur chances are MUCH HIGHER compared to international students. You are making the right choice by coming to Canada.
The universities will ask a minimum grade of C or sometimes D. But, most ask for a C.

OK

so university of Toronto requires either 3 A Levels or 4 Advanced Subsidiary levels. But it also says for purposes of admission 2 Advanced Supplementary Levels are equal to one Advaned Level. If they r same then why the change of name?

I don´t know about the A level in the Middle East, but I can tell you the A level in UK is a friggin´ joke, it´s only at the GCE/GCSE level in Hong Kong.

How come?

Because Hong Kong maintains its own exam board (Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority), that´s why.
