University | Salary Today | Weighted Salary (US$)
18 York University: Schulich | 89375 | 88471
24 University of Toronto: Rotman | 98055 | 96888

U of T gets ranked lower yet its graduates earn $7000 more than York´s grads lol.

0wned.

^ Haha, UofT just admits student with more work experience.

FT just counts the percentage increase rather than absolute value increase.

Salary surveys always have bias errors due to non-respondents, so the salary numbers don´t mean anything to me

just swallow up your pride for once and admit that we´re just better than you.

bitch.

Look Yorkies,

You can say whatever you want about UofT. You can go to your pot parties and spend the whole night toking and talking up York. UofTers really don´t give a shit. So you can go ahead and feel good "for once" about your school.

But where we draw the line is when you try pushing your BS onto impressionable HS students. They´ve heard the rumours of the big whackjob that is York University, but they´re still inexperienced and easily led astray. Sorry, but that´s just unethical.

Shame on you! Luring potential young scholars and professionals to a kegger school for partiers and Jewish American Princesses.

Yes, York has good Biz and Law schools. At the GRADUATE level. Don´t trick teenagers into thinking a York undergrad is on par with one from UofT. You are shortchanging the generation of tomorrow.

Yeah, well since the whole survey is biased (how can you explain the great discrepancy among different rankings then), why don´t we just ditch them altogether?

And yeah, York beats UT in salary increase %, but you know why? That´s coz York grads start out low and don´t get paid higher until much later, even though their cap is still below UT grads, and the best part is, even though rank is ranked higher than UT, the York grads usually work the boss who is a UT grad.

To conclude, ranking doesn´t matter, it´s the person that does. Since York Schulich grads (like you) think that since they beat UT they are invincible, it´s no wonder why you fail in real life and get paid less.

Ranking doesn´t matter????

If the ranking is on your side, it DOES matter.
If not, it doesn´t matter.

It is a very simple human behaviour to reject advices and suggestions.

The very fact that you care so much about the rankings because they supposingly show that York "owns" UT shows that ranking does matter when it´s on your side. But it still matters for me, because the fact that York gets ranked higher yet its grads earn less is a solid indicator of how much York is worth.

just suck it up and admit UofT is below York
that´s the problem with these people, they´re brainwashed into thinking that UofT is some kind of invincible school, which it clearly isn´t

you´re just jealous you´re in York instead of UofT, so you find some rankings that York is ranked higher than UofT.

Trust me, there are more than just business school in an university, and there are more MBA rankings that rank UofT higer than York.

Get a reality check and see who´s the one can´t get over their school.

Dear gang,

I´m really worried about our friend York. Yeah, I know he´s always been different and has trouble fitting in, but this time it´s serious. He´s been going on lately about his raison d´?tre, or lack of one. All he does is mope and smoke weed - and that stuff isn´t helping. He mumbled something yesterday about not being "best" at anything. Now sure, he´s not spectacular, but he´s an all round good guy - I wish he could see that. His problem is he´s obsessed with perfection but doesn´t take the time to do it right. Remember his brief interests in political science, quebecois culture, and that weekend he spent reading engineering textbooks? If only he put in the effort, he´s got so much potential.

Anyways, the reason I´m writing is because I´m afraid York is going to do something drastic. I have this awful feeling that we´re going to have trouble getting in touch with him some weekend, break down the door to his studio apartment, and find the unthinkable. Morbid, yes, but I´m that concerned. We should do something to cheer him up. Remember that dubious "quiz" he filled out in People Magazine? Well the "results" say that he has the best MBA of us all. Let´s hang it up on the fridge and compliment him on it. Don´t go too far and actually toss York any management questions, even jokingly - his ego is just too fragile right now to take risks. If we do it right we might draw York out of his shell. Let´s all congratulate him on having the "best" MBA... we´re big enough for it, right?

Keep it real,
T

Hey York students:

All kidding aside, I think it´s super that you won the MBA contest thingy. It was truly a bloodbath and only the best school could´ve won. And have you lost weight? You´re looking great!
