JMSB makes the finals at Marshall International Case Competition

February 22-25, 2006 - Congratulations to the four undergraduate students who made the final round at the Marshall International Case Competition held in Los Angeles: Johann Tritthardt, Paul Sarenas, Catherine Barry and Mubashir Jamal. The successful team was coached by Professor Mark Haber and veteran competitors Cameron Fortin and Steven Bento.

Jerry Tomberlin, Dean, said "Congratulations on such a great showing among such tough competition. You all continue to make us so proud," as the students returned from California.

Twenty-four of the best international schools competed in this annual competition, including Berkeley, Penn State, Illinois and Luigi Bocconi. Competitors are given 24 hours to research, analyze and solve a current problem faced by a business. Students then present to a panel of 5 judges, who decide on the finalists. This year??s case required teams to determine an expansion strategy for Jets International, a luxury private jet charter.

JMSB advanced to the final round after defeating Wharton School of Business, the University of North Carolina, McGill University, and Carnegie Mellon´s Tepper School of Business.

In the end the winner was the University of Texas at Austin. The four participants were all proud of their performance and outstanding showing, as this was JMSB´s first invitation to the prestigious competition.

Concordia gets the last laugh.

McGill? It´s a great science school, but it really isn´t very good in management.
