If you want to get a job relevant to biology, the best you can do is a research assistant. All pure science majors will get you similar jobs, and the pay isn´t that great compared to engineering. If you´re interested in biology, you might want to take electives.

As for grad school, a biology major doesn´t make it easier to get into a postgraduate biology program because that´s the only thing that´s relevant. You can´t expect to get admitted into a Master´s biology program with a physics undergraduate degree.

My personal recommendation is that you get an engineering degree relevant to biology in some way (eg. chemical engineering, materials engineering, biochemical engineering at Western, electrical/biomedical engineering at McMaster), or just use your electives to take biology.
