Yeah B.A. Econ is useless. B.comm Econ is the way to go if you want to be a cost/benefit analysis agent, work for some type of finacial institution or get a job period.

If you want to be a cost/benefit analysis agent, you should really consider WHAT you want to analyse. I am going for my B.sci after my B.comm Econ so when I finally graduate I can kick ass at analysing the feasibility of pharmaceutical and other science-related industry programs, or maybe work for NASA.

The more degrees, the better off you are when they are either diversified in different fields or focused in one field. Remember that getting a Major in Economics limits your options to working in the field of economics for either the government or fincial institutions. Perhaps some international or major national corporations, but then you would have to focus on studying Real Business Cycle theory during your masters, which you most probably will since it is a current fad. You must LIKE economics to get your masters but a B.comm Ecnon is no small fry degree either. It´s up there with computer science, finance and engineering in terms of salary. Look around for comaprisons and you´ll see.

Anyways, it´s always good to see another interested in the field of economics as opposed to finance and computers, which everyone seems to be in these days. Good luck in your studies and whatever you do you will find that economics helps you remain efficient and objective.
