| Subject: Top engineering school (UofT/Queen's/Waterloo)? |
Hi,
I just got accepted from UofT (engineering science)/ Queen´s (Mechanical)/ and Waterloo (Mechatronics). Queen´s University offered me an 8,500$ scholarship/ Waterloo offered me 3000$ + more in the future/ and UofT offered me 3000$. I am undecided whether to risk my social life and sanity by joining Engineering Science at Toronto, or earning some money in Waterloo, or just enjoying life in beautiful Queen´s. Any advice? (please reply ASAP, the deadlines are closing in!)

Ryerson has the best engineering.

as much as you may have heard that your social life might suffer at UofT engineering it might not all be true. From people that I´ve met, the engineering program is pretty much a decent community, they have a few of their own pubnights and stuff. With that said its also pretty cliquey. THey have a great frosh week though. Everyone paints themselves purple and gets one of those construction hats (P.S. any arts student who manages to snatch a hat from an engineering student gets a 2-4 of beer)
Queens is mostly inhabited by snobby rich white people with the exception of the Engineering program =P I haven´t heard anything fantastic about that program socially, but like UofT its very well respected. UofT however has a larger alumni base - which helps when searching for jobs.
waterloo again, well respected, and known for engineering and maths. but it really smells bad there...and there´s nothing to do...its like the boonies out there.
BTW: congrats for having so many great options :)

i´m not eric lam. i DO know an eric lam though. I worked with him last summer at Direct Energy. He just graduated last year if i´m not wrong.
