Subject: Schulich's selectivity is crap |
Let´s look at Schulich´s selectivity at the graduate level (MBA)...
My friend got into Schulich for a MBA but got rejected from Rotman (UofT), Ivey (Western), and Sauders (UBC).
Queen´s has the highest entrance GMAT, with around 670. UofT follows with around 665, then Western at around 664. York is at 650.
Queen´s selectivity is around 30%, UofT 33%, Western 35%. And York is 55%.
(taken from BusinessWeek - York doesn´t rank very well on here by the way)
Despite the fact that Rotmans (UofT) has a much larger entering class than Schulich, the quality of incoming students at Schulich is still much lower.
And graduating students at Rotmans are paid on average $20k higher (Financial Times).

(in reply to: Schulich's selectivity is crap) Good Students not neccessarily make a good business school.
If the data above is true and correct, then York´s faculty and all other resources and equipments are among the best in the world. It maybe better than Harvard too.

(in reply to: Schulich's selectivity is crap) "the fact that Rotmans (UofT) has a much larger entering class than Schulich"
I doubt this because York´s Schulich has the largest graduate business school in Canada.
