Subject: Schulich vs Rotman
I´m comparing biz schools in Toronto and wonder why there´s such a price difference between Schulich and Rotman. Both have similar reputations but Rotman costs 60% more. Any informed opinions here on either school?

Schulich, it´s #1 in the country so it should be your first choice

UofT should be your "safe choice", the acceptance rate is 90% so you´ll get in for sure. I´m not sure about Rotman but you need about a 74-77% to get in to UofT´s arts and science faculty. probably the same for Rotman. for Schulich you need like, 90s to get in, it´s better.

Sorry I should have clarified that I´m talking about MBAs, not undergrad.

On their websites both have nearly the same admission requirements, is one actually more difficult to get into than the other?

Schulich > Rotman
plus Rotman has a 90% acceptance rate, you´ll get in for sure, schulich should be your first choice for mba and undergrad

Rotman vs. Schulich (in reply to: Schulich vs Rotman)
They´re both fantastic programs with great prestige and a wonderful experience. The question should be less which one is better- they probably are comperable as far as quality goes, but you should look into which one aligns with your career goals better. Take a tour, talk to students, allumni and profs and sit on a lecture or two. You´ll get a picture of which one is a better fit for you.

2006-2007 Rankings (in reply to: Schulich vs Rotman)
Latest ranking shows Rotman is far better MBA school than Schulich. The competition is really b/w Rotman and Ivey. Here are some of Rotman´s strengths:

- Strong Corporate Presence @ Bay Street
- Close proximity to Bay Street
- Best in Finance (like Chicago School of Business)... Rotman´s interactive finance software is amazing and the finance lab is excellent.
- Quality of students is far better than Schulich.
- Avg. CGPA and GMAT requirements exceed those of Schulich.
- Acceptance rate is high as only top 10% from Canada apply to the program with excellent GPAs and GMAT scores.

Rotman is Awesome! (in reply to: Schulich vs Rotman)
Rotman is one of the few Canadian business schools known internationally along with Ivey (University of Western Ontario). No one knows Schulick outside Canada. Also, I have been to Schulich campus and have to say was not impressed by their students. Lack of communication seems to be eminent. More emphasis is on GMAT score. If you can get 660 that is all you need whether you can write or talk or present does not matter. My suggession go for Rotman!

Schulich - Please No! (in reply to: Schulich vs Rotman)
Schulich is only good for MBA in general mgmt. Also, quality of students is questionable. I suggest you visit all these schools to see which best fits you and your goals. One person on this website posted Schulich is #1 in Canada. That is not true. Ivey is called Harvard of Canada, however, for Finance or Investment Banking I recommend Rotman´s MBA or Master of Finance program. Good Luck!
