Much had been said here recently about engineering competitions and I decided to do a little more digging myself. I found out the dudes at Lakehead are not only strong contestents in Canada, but they are also regular finalists at a major U.S. engineerng competition hosted by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Apparently, Lakehead had been among the top teams at this major competition for over 5 years. In one year, 2002 I think, Lakehead came in 2nd at the U.S. Nationals, and secured place in the competition´s history by winning this prize with an all-female team!

Rather than bashing Lakehead, as we all know we have done from time to time, maybe we should be cheering them on instead. Well done, Lakehead!

The 2006 final results and score card for all the participants can be found at: http://www.steelbridge2006.com/
