^ why is lakehead and uofc in the biz section? western, queen´s and uoft all are much better. uofc is actually pretty good cause they win a lot of competitions, but that means shit. you need to look at alumni because the ultimate goal is to be successful, not win university competitions.

lakehead does not belong in engineering for obvious reasons.

In think Lakehead deserves to be mentioned for engineering. They proved themselves at the OEC this year, the only school that topped them was UofT.

And yes competitions do count for somthing.. it may not be as easy to see for Lakehead because they produce a very small amount of graduates, but for UofC they have alot of sucessful business alumni, probably more than UofT. Stephen harper is a business grad from UofC, and he is extremely sucessful... i would count him on a higher level than even a big CEO, money isnt everything.

^ are you fucking kidding me?? uofc has more successful biz alumni than uoft?? man, you´re ignorant.

this is all the famous alumni from uofc (wikipedia):

# James Gosling, inventor of the Java programming language, holds a B.Sc in Computer Science from the University of Calgary (1977).
# Harold (Hal) Kvisle TransCanada Profile. the President & CEO of TransCanada Corporation holds an MBA from the University of Calgary (1981).
# Douglas R. Hamilton, NASA flight surgeon and biomedical engineer, holds a Ph.D in cardiovascular physiology from the University of Calgary (1991).
# Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada and leader of the Conservative Party, holds an MA and a B.A in Economics from the University of Calgary (1991).
# Bruce Livingstone, entrepreneur
# Robert Thirsk, Canadian Space Agency astronaut and NASA capsule communicator for the International Space Station program. Holds a B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary (1976)

uoft?

i think you get the picture.

p.s. - if lakehead keeps winning competitions then we can change it.

McGill is a great school overall but i don´t think they rank best for anything. Most schools don´t rank best at something, this isn´t a knock at McGill... it still competes very competitively against most schools.

Eg, for all the times McGill is listed above, each is kinda a "WTF?"

Arts & Sci - Is this contrived field worth commenting on? At least break it down to majors or concentrations.

Psychology - McGill is good, not the best.

Linguistics and Languages - I would say McGill is one of the best but the top still goes to UofT. McGill offers more languages than usual but no way it compares to the number or depth at UofT, or UBC for Asian.

Political Science - Ottawa is the best, Carlton is good and a match for McGill.

About the only program i can say with certainty McGill is the best at is undegrad architecture. This is also because of a lack of competition though.

Wow really? You seem so knowledgeable. Now let me ask you... have you ever attended a class in each school you´ve mentioned? Or even stepped foot on their campus? Yeah, thought so, you´re talking out of your ass again. You must be one of those delusional first-year students.

I´ve said this before, these little rankings are fun and all but in the end, no one knows what they´re talking about.

I obviously haven´t attended all those schools but I do read scholastic journals and reviews, as well as listen to my professors talk about various academic communities. I don´t need to visit the Dominican Republic to know St Martinique better. It´s all about what you read and who you talk to. Nice effort though. Don´t be so sensitive, I wasn´t trashing McGill.
