actually psychology can be taken as either a BA or a BSc, the Bsc course is slightly harder because you have to take some science courses that are not psychology.

Most people in engineering consider psychology an arts course... my girlfriend is in biology and i tease her and calle it an "arts-science"

Depends on the school. UofT considers ALL psychology courses science courses.

Psychology is definitely not a science course. It got independent from philosophy in the 19th century. It is, at the most. just social science like economics.

Second, how come it can be choosen between a BA and BSc?? Can you get a BA in biology?

psychology is both an arts course and a science course,so in many universities you can choose between an arts degree or a science degree, the BA permits alot of time to random electives while the BSc requires science required courses and science electives.

No, you cannot get a BA in biology, i only make fun of biology and call them arts because bio students dont have to actually learn anything, all they do is memorize.... just like the arts students

whoops i missed you first question. Yes psychology is indeed considered a science in some situations because everything that effects us psychologically is tied to biology and the human anatomy. Alot of psychology courses contain background in human biology.

sorry, psychology, sociology, geography, and history memorise facts.

The other arts courses do things like write opinionated little essays on mainstream topics that every person under the sun has different opinions about. To get an A+ all you have to do is emulate the attitude of your stupid ass teacher when you write your paper.

It´s amazing how ignorant some of you are. First of all, psychology is not all about memorizing, and neither are arts courses. You people have a lot to learn.

If psychology is developing theories, testing theories, and making predictions, then it is a science.

Biology and psychology to a lessor extent are both sciences. Nobody develops theories, tests theories, or makes predictions in undergraduate bio and psyc. I´ve taken psychology courses and my gf is in 3rd year bio, 80% of what you do involves circling an A,B,C or D. Get over yourself artsy

psychology is both an art and a science dipshit, they would never have developed a BA degree in psyc if it wasnt an art.

"If psychology is developing theories, testing theories, and making predictions, then it is a science."

^ Economics is also the same thing as you said. I have studied ECO before too. But it is just a social science discipline. Dont forget ECO also has Econometrics, Statistics and Calculus for Economists.

^ 1000% Agreed
