Subject: Rankings of Canadian Universities!!!
I talked to some people in Europe and I noticed that no one really gave any big credits to Canadian Univerisities.

Now I just want to clear something: There is no official ranking of educational institutions in Canada.
It is hard to do a formal ranking because they are uniformly of high quality and the range of offerings differs from institution to institution. Informal rankings can be found in book and magazine publications. However, these types of evaluations should not be considered definitive as the criteria for determining the rankings vary and do not always pertain to international students. You do not need to evaluate the ranking or reputation of the entire university, because the department or school where you will be studying may have its own reputation, due to its research facilities or because there are well-known professors teaching there.

All Edu institutions vary in size; some institutions are more researched based, while others focus more on comprehensive studies. You are encouraged to look for factors that fit your needs, not just the overall reputation of a particular program. It may well be that a school with a lower unofficial ranking may in fact be the best choice for your particular circumstance.

Many of them are really good and I beleive they can compete on International market.

Good luck

Commerce Programs (in reply to: Rankings of Canadian Universities!!!)
I am in Queens commerce right now, and I believe it is one of the top programs in Canada, if not the top.

Last year for general business programs (those not specific to management) it was ranked 10th in the world, and the highest out of non-US schools by UK-times.

This website attempts to rank all business courses, including undergrad programs. Not really sure what the criteria were for this ranking though.

Out of all the international rankings I´ve seen, these three consistently appear at top, in order:

Toronto, McGill, UBC.

That´s also the order of their research output, which seems to give them alot of prestige over other Canadian schools.

York is better than UWO!
That is why there is about 300 students yearly transferring out of UWO to our campus every year.

Also, our programs get more respect and we have a greater research budget from Ontario Govt.
Also, if you want a multicultural flair at university, York is the place to go. Has the second most international students in Canada (more than 3000), while UWO has 900.

The campus at York is not as attractive as UWO´s. Also, York is in a big sprawling city so the collge life off campus is better at UWO for that matter.

I am a fair person and believe that York is a better university that UWO.
