Ok I am from the states and went to school at Brown university. I work at a law firm here in Toronto and many of my clients and friends at work are from Universities in Ontario. Here´s my opinion:

1st tier-
University of Toronto- I have 2 friends from this school and telling by them I think its a great School. A bit too big but many brilliant minds.

Queens- I personally think this school is the most prestigous school in Ontario. They have a very rich history and many big time owners in Toronto went to Queens.

Mcgill- I have never heard of this school when I lived in the States but most of the Lawyers I have met said they were from Mcgill so Im guessing its a really good school.

Waterloo- A very good science and math school.

Western- Supposedly a party school. I dont really like schools that have party reputation but this school is does have some good graduate programs.

Mcmaster- I think this school is on the fringe of first tier/second tier. Its a really good science school and is on the up and coming.

2nd tier

York- very good law school. Many lawyers I know have their BA and LLB from york but at the same time there are many idiots from york that are the ones in court.

Laurier

Carelton

Ottawa U

3rd Tier

Trent

Lakehead- name says it all!!

Ryerson- I personally hate this school. The first time I ever saw or heard about this school was when I went to get some chinese food on Yonge street. I almost cried when I found out it was an actuall university.

Queen´s is the most prestigious? HAHAHAH! This guy is a wacko. How exactly does the history of Queen´s even come close to comparing with that of UofT or McGill?

Queen´s = Paris Hilton University

Brown might be Ivy league, but find one ranking system that places Brown higher than McGill or UofT. Good-luck! Even in the THES rankings that primarily puts emphasis on reputation ranks McGill 24, UofT 29 and UBC 38. Brown is 71. What does that that say about McGill, UofT, and UBC compared with Brown in terms of international reputation? Sure, you´re not biased!
Just who do you think you are to judge which Canadian schools are 1st tier? Never heard of McGill? You lived in a cave my friend.

I am not a lawyer, but it would appear to me that 1) law school in the US would not prepare you for law in Canada, 2) somebody who did law school at Brown would know how to spell, and 3) a lawyer could do better than generalize (i.e. UWO = party school) What is your source, this forum? You could have mentioned G&M. Both the Princeton Review and Playboy rank McGill top 10 for best undergraduate experience in the World, the only Canadian University in the top 10.

What is even funnier is that his arguments are so freakin weak. He´s like this:

Uhh, I work with two guys that went to Mcgill, so its a good school..

WTF?? Yeah, I dont think you won many cases...

The best part is Queen´s prestige and rich history. Somebody from Brown, one of the oldest universities in the US (founded in 1764), would never say such a thing. This person clearly has a personality disorder ...
